A Terabox share link opens a web page. A direct download link skips the page and points at the file itself. That small difference is what lets a download manager grab the file, pause it and pick it up again after a dropped connection.
Share link versus direct link
| Share link | Direct download link | |
|---|---|---|
| Opens | A Terabox web page | The file itself |
| Good for | Sending to someone | Download managers and scripts |
| Lifetime | Lasts until the owner removes it | Usually temporary |
How to get a direct link
- Copy the Terabox share link.
- Paste it into the Terabox file downloader and press Get files.
- Press Copy link next to a file to copy its direct link.
For a whole share, open the bulk downloader and use Copy all links or Save link list to get every direct link in one go.
What to do with it
- A download manager: paste the link, or import the saved text file. Tools such as Free Download Manager and Internet Download Manager can resume and split downloads.
- The command line:
wget -c 'DIRECT_LINK'orcurl -L -O 'DIRECT_LINK'will fetch it on a server with no browser. - Your browser: just open the link and the download starts.
Good to know
Direct links usually expire after a while, so use them soon after you copy them. If a link stops working, run the share link through the tool again to get a fresh one.
FAQ
Why does my direct link stop working?
Direct links are generally temporary. Get a new one from the original share link.
Can I resume a half finished download?
That depends on the source accepting range requests. A download manager will tell you if it can resume.
